I also wish to express my extreme skepticism at those few who are claiming they often heard and used the exact word "nagger" growing up. As someone else pointed out, the noun form is "nag", not nagger.

"Don't be such a nag." I never heard "nagger."

Come on, if "nagger" were a commonly known regionalism (and I have traveled extensively over much of the US and yet never heard it once) it would appear in every reputable English dictionary as such!!

But, guess what? In the first two I looked, it doesn't!

When you type in nagger, you get directed to nag!

Man all you people do is drone on and bitch about the same thing over and over. Bunch of naggers, all of you 😛

Call me a nagga, chances are if he used awesome dude, he most definitely knew what he was implying. He ain't innocent.

GTA: San Andreas was epic! :awe:

As a gangsta "flossin on rims that IS stolen" (Tupac; ibid), blastin nukkas, tossin hoes, makin dat paper; what else could a awesome dude want? 😀

Flying, buying property, tearing shit up, that's what gaming is about.

Not too many people describing their MIL while gaming online. Lots and lots of people using racist language though.

lol in my wow guild (nearly all of us are over 25 and married) so yeah we talk a lot about MIL's. l swear its seems NOBODY has a good MIL out of nearly everyone i talk to.

Oh please. Everyone knows that nagger is a play on the word ni***r. Anyone trying to play completely ignorant of this is a joke. Depending on the circumstances surrounding the use of this word could and has been implied to mean the n-bomb.

actually no i didn't . until last night it never dawned on me that nagger could be racisst.

Now i do suspect that the OP was doing to to get around the filter. but hell i have said nagger plenty of times but never in a racist way. it was just a word we used growing up. usually bitching about mothers or girlfriends (hehe if we had one).

I doubt anyone in this thread has ever used or heard that word except in reference to that South Park episode. Most people in this thread are feigning naivety.

lol and you would be wrong.

it must e like the soda. pop and coke deal. where it depends on the area. I do admit its been a long time since i heard anyone say it.

Is nagger even a word? 😕

did you read all of sdifox's post?

Noun1.nagger - someone (especially a woman) who annoys people by constantly finding fault

edit: also http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nagger

hell i could link more pages but whats the point? It is a word. I do agree using it on a online game is silly since the word is outdated and could be used to avoid the filters.

Freedom of speech doesn't extend to privately owned game servers or even forums such as this. The owners of those servers can exercise whatever filtering they choose.

I don't know about you but racial slurs are not a part of my vocabulary. If they are, I hope it earns you a beat down someday when you spew off some hate filled tirade in front of the wrong people.

Oh, and I really don't give a fuck if you swear.

Freedom of speech extends everywhere. Doesn't mean you can't kick me out of your house for saying something you don't like, but I'm still free to say it and you're still free to throw me out. That's your prerogative. Just like it's your right to call me a piece of shit on these public forums.

As much as you'd love to though you can't have me arrested from dropping n-bombs, f-bombs or anything you deem offensive. The only exception being shouting fire in a crowded theater or threatening violence. The rest is all protected speech.

I'm sorry, but I missed where the OP was arrested. 🙄

Nobody here has suggested he should or could have been, so please put that straw man of yours back in his padded cell, because it doesn't even begin to pertain to this discussion.

Again, again, again, the 1st amendment does NOT give you the right to say what you want on servers, forums or in restaurants and such with impunity, which has been our undisputed point!

When I game I curse. I say shit, fuck, wise and beautiful woman, motherfucker. Don't like it? Mute me. Swear filters on game servers auto kick as soon as you type the word in. Usually with no warning one is running. Pissed me off so I stopped playing.

As far as I'm concerned its 1st amendment freedom of speech. If it offends the sensibilities of sissy bitches like yourself, you can blow it out your ass for all I care.

May I spam your inbox with goatse and gory vehicular accident images? It's my freedom of expression, after all.

Nagger is definitely used quite commonly in the UK.

The racial term resembling it isn't used that often though, even by out and out racists. Not to say they don't have their own choice words but I think that one only works if your American, its a bit like mother fucker. Theres no way I could say that in anger or with a straight face.

When I was first in England I happened to say "Fuckin A" (meaning strong assent) in front of my English and Welsh buddies and they fell all over themselves in admiration, just loving it. They'd heard of it, but they'd never heard a real life colonial actually say it. 😵

uhhh, he already chose his 3 consonants and 1 vowel.
there are no more guesses in the final round.

Yes there are. He can guess as many words as he wants for 10 seconds. If you saw that episode, he guessed wrong. If you want to be picky, then N is supposed to be one of the supplied letters on the left and not one of his "guesses."

"Nagger" isn't a racial epithet...however, so many people try to be cute and use it in place of ni**er...so many places consider them to be one and the same...so quitcher damned nagging...and don't be niggardly.

nah, please fuck off with claiming more words under your umbrella of racism.

those with racist intent will always try to find other ways to try to be racist (thus anandtech's ban on words like savages). It's out of line for people keep trying to claim words as their own, because they see some perceived insult. It's freaking annoying. I use the word nagger with the same frequency I use any semi-uncommon word in my vocabulary, so gtfo >.>.

I see it used in a racist way all the time on the internet
