We were playing $5 buy in, low stakes because we were pretty trashed. After eliminating everybody besides the three of us (started with 8), the following hand occurs.

Current dealer gets trash and folds, I get QsQc (pocket queens, woo!). Guy across the table -- the chip leader -- is really drunk and is showing everybody his Jack-10 off suit. I think I have him bent over. Incredibly, he goes all in before the flop. The flop -- 10s 4c 10d Jh 7s.

The poker stats site says I had an 84.88% change to win with pocket queens, but he somehow flopped a boat. That was the end of the night for me.

A pair in the pocket is a sucker's hand in Texas Hold 'Em. I know how you feel though - you can come up with bullets off the deal and not one frickin Ace will come up. BS

We were doing $5 buy in, and for the first half I was chip leader. Got down to 3rd place but with a couple good hands got back up to 1st. Then they decide on last hand that everyone had to bet a huge minimum from the start, so it was basically whoever wins this hand wins it all. Friggin didn't get even a pair. How's that for a wasted night. Not doing that again.

Actually, depends on how much more chips he had than you, he didn't have much to lose.
Even if he lost that hand, hes still in the game.

At least he wasn't showing everybody his Jack-Off 10 Suit!

A9 pocket. friend had AK pocket.

he makes a small raise preflop and chases everyone but me from the pot.

flop comes A9K. he plays it cool and checks to me. i bet big and he follows to fast for comfort. so im feeling like its not looking good.

turn shows a 9. i couldnt help myself. he goes all in and i call taking him for everything.

one of the funniest things ive ever seen.

best bad story.

i called 5-7-8-9-10 as a straight and got owned by a pair of pocket 2s.

how is it BS? you already hold 1/2 the Aces in the deck. A third ace most of the time won't come off.

You can leave the pocket pairs to us suckers and Pros like you can play your 72os.

You know it's funny, they say 7-2 is worst cards you can get. But everytime I get them, the flop hands a 7 and a 2 and sometimes even another of one of those.

randal, as far as bad beats go, that's not all that bad. Ladies get beat very often and it's incentive to buy out the pot when you got the chance. Of course, since you were drunk that's not really possible. I've had many many hands where I'm an overwhelming favorite and have gotten owned on the turn or river. Just one example. Was playing 1/2 NL in AC. I got Kd 9d. Guy before me bet preflop 20 bucks. I call, and 2 other guys call (4 handed preflop). Flop comes, Qd, Jh, 10d (for me that's a K high straight, a K high flush draw, and a gut shot straight flush draw). I raise 30, 2 guys call after me and the original raiser folded (3 handed after flop). Turn comes 10h. At this point, I got a bit worried and went all in. Both guys still called me. River comes Ah which made my A high straight. Guy next to me had a busted straight draw, but the other guy had a full house 10's over Q's. That ended up removing half my stack. Mathematically, after the flop I believe I was something like 86-90% favorite of winning but I still got owned. I can't remember the number of times my full house or trips have been beat by higher. It happens.

My worst beat is KK beaten by K7 runner runner flush after going all in on the flop.

The worst beat in poker is 4 of a kind losingto runner runner straight flush.
