System

1.4 Gig t-bird
8k7a+
2x60 ibm 60 series drives RAID 0
etc

Converted to NTFS and sandra shows how the system feel... slow. Drive benchmarks are a little over 5000 Really poor. I tried Partition magic too resize clusters and it didnt recognize my drive (probable because its striped).

Should I bite the bullet and reinstall windows? Do I need to reformat? In other words

Is this necessary?
What is the best way to go about it?
Also- there are newer Hipoint drivers out there. Do I need them in this situation? XP recognizes my configuration so I thought not, but I'm not sure.

PS besides any data and drivers I have, are there any other files I should back up when I do a CD burn?

Thanks <B>

What os are you running, assuming windows 2k or xp? If something isn't running right and you want the speed, go ahead and reformat. If it is still fast to you but slow to sissoft i wouldn't worry about it.

You did pay for raid so back up only stuff hard to get, and start over.

BTW you might want to talk to the mods about getting your j. member status bumped to memeber.
