This is from a side project that I am actually playing in. The songs were written in one day, recorded the next (6 in total). The band has never actually played together, so it's supposed to be kind of raw (including mistakes).

Let me know what y'all think.

Sounds like red hot chili peppers a little to me, and guitar or bass is a little loud to me. Not bad actually, i could imagine listening to this....

Not bad. The guitar drowning out everything was probably from 1 mic being used and being placed in front of the amp instead of 10'-15' in front of the band.

Thanks for listening!

Not sure what you mean though. There was no "band", all the parts were overdubbed since we have never played together as a group. These songs were written in one day (six total songs) and recorded the next (all guitar and vocal parts).

It's not bad. It isn't my style of music, so I'm not the best to critique. It's sounds a little simplistic to me, and the guitar I find bothersome. For the speed in which it was made, and the lack of personal contact between members, I think you did a good job :^)

I like the mix, it felt balanced aside from one nitpick, the little 3 note lead done on the clean guitar was mixed a bit too quiet to stand out. It's nothing that is super noticeable but from a melody standpoint bringing that bit out more would complete it for me. It seems to get better later in the song. I think it might just be a bit too muddy on the guitar side the more I listen to it.

I don't care much for the vocals but overall great job. Did you play bass on this track? The drums were recorded very very well. I'm a big clean cymbal sound guy and you really captured that. I like the tom placement in the mix too.

Catchy tune thar Gunnar! Never played together.....so thats not Chris on vocals (sounds like him)? Kinda Jason Ross thing going on, maybe a little exaggerated in spots, but I like it.

With some serious lead guitar, it would have maybe a Thin Lizzy feel to it. Nice!

Yeah, that's Chris. I guess maybe I didn't word that quite right. The band is called "Shuttle", and includes members of my normal band, but we have never gotten together as a group, and have never played any of the songs together. Chris just decided to get a few singer/songwriter friends together, and originally was going to write an entire album in one day, and record it the next. One of the guys dropped out, so the two left just did 6 songs.

Wanted to add too that half of the songs Chris is the main rhythm/vocals, and the other half of the songs is a different guy. I'll post some of those songs eventually. The rest aren't quite as stupid simple as this tune - although the whole point was simple 3 chord rock songs that could be played on the fly, and would be a bit rough, with mistakes left in the recordings (like the drummer not stopping at the end of the song - lol)

Yeah, I played the bass in this track (stupid simple - just followed the guitar). The only reason I pointed that out was that this was a copy/paste from another forum where I normally post tracks that I only recorded.

As far as the "lead" guitar, I treated more as a background/pad and wanted it to be kinda spacey sounding. Maybe I'll bring it out more and make it a bit more direct.

The funniest thing I've heard in music production was a lead guitar track that was prominently phasing hard left and hard right for no reason whatsoever. I think it was Yngwie.

Hey, what do you think about this mix? I've been going deaf lately and can't mix for crap. I played all the guitars but the drums and bass are midi programmed.
