I've heard that Duron 600 are no longer produced, although haven't checked. I was wondering what is the next most clockable CPU is out there.

Thanks for you input.

What about the 750 or 800? Is there any difference? Same core right? Is it worth the extra dough to go higher? My first OC was a cel 466. As you know it isn't a good chip to OC. However with having adj multipliers on the duron it shouldn't matter right?

I, personally, wouldn't go with a Duron 800MHz to overclock with.. I've had a couple of them and only one (out of six) did more than 990MHz. Maybe I've just had bad experiences, but.. Too coincidental for me.

PlunX, damn dude, that bites royally! This Duron 800 I have here is @ 1-Gig, holding steady @ 39C, 45 under Q3 demoloop+RC5 loop, @ 1.75v

I have a K7T Pro2a + FOP32, so it seems our systems are similar. You have an "AMD-approved" power supply, right? 300-watt isn't necessarily enough, as they can be inconsistent in their output, which can muck up a good overclock.

My power supply -is- AMD-approved (forgot the brand, though..) but I've been thinking about getting a newer one anyway (possibly 400W if I have enough money). But, you never know.. I might just have had some bad experiences with them.

Well if you were going for the Duron 600 in the first place obviously you want the cheapest deal you can get. Wouldn't the 650 be the natural choice? It costs about $4 less than the 600 last I checked, slightly better default performance, same OCing range. It's just the 600's older brother.

I had a D600 that was stable at 900MHz. My D700 is stable at 1083MHz (1.8v).
