Why don't we just Not ?

Anything tying DIRECTLY to a computer I can understand but a camera ? Why not cell phones then ? or tv's ? Remote controls ? ............ Let's stick to Computers only, keeps it nice & tight !

that's cause anandtech doesn't review cell phones, tv's, and remote controls.

if you ask me .. if they do a review .. they should have a forum for it?

Politics & News? that fits nicely into computers, huh?

Have you visited some of the other less traffic areas? I'm sure a Camera forum for advice and help will garner as much attention.

I think that a "techie digital camera forum" would be a good idea. I know that there was a lot of interest in the various digicam threads in Hot Deals last year when a bunch of models went on clearance at various places. Therefore it seems that there are numerous members on AT with an interest in above-entry-level digital photography.

Why not make a "Gadgets" forum, which would include cell phones, digicams, and MP3 players? I'm not of the belief that more forums are neccessarily better; programming fits in with software, and digital cameras fit in with peripherals and general hardware.

a gadgets forum would overlap on the peripherals forum alot, probably to the point of it getting anoying. the last thing we need is more wrong forum nazis yelling at you every time you post. people don't know how to pick the right forum as it is, just look at how many HDD posts are in peripherals forum.

i do like the idea of a digicam forum though and i think the the OP has a valid point. anandtech forums was a computer hardware forums because anandtech.com was limited to a computer hardware website, that is no longer the case if they are going to expand the scope of the main site why not the forums?

A digicam forum would also infringe on peripherals, yet you seem to favor one.

In any event, there are plenty of other peripherals such as printers and scanners. I just think that gadgets are all the rage right now and it would be nice to have a forum dedicated to them. I know that I would be in there alot if we had such a forum. Right now it seems like everything peripheral and gadget related ends up in General Hardware which is a shame.

i don't think of a digital camera as a peripheral, it realy has nothing to do with computers it has to do with photogrophy. people who don't even own computers still use digi cams. your limited severly but it's still done. as far as printers and scanners being in general hardware thats just people posting in the wrong forum and not much can bo done other than running around yelling and screaming at everyone who does it.

I was just about to post another thread asking for a digital camera forum, but found this one instead! You all know my opinion, DIGITAL CAMERA FORUM FOR THE MASSES! :D Say it with me guys/girls! I know it's a long one, but...let's try it anyway.

Then again I think we have too many as it is. Why not use perhipherals? I mean, who cares if it's technically one or not? It's close enough.

Same with a programming forum. We have one. It's the software forum. People who would answer your programming questions in a programming forum are already there to answer your question in the software forum.
