Read the report of your paid engineers.
I was referring to the COE-not hispanic day laborers.

Again, what part of thermodynamics do you not get?
The global warming activists will have to respond to the td argument.
My concern is the supply of easy hydrocarbon energy. Thermodynamics has nothing to do with the global containment of oil.

In the end, I don't give a flying fvck about the survival of anybody but myself and my family.
I don't care about the poor or the downtrodden, they can all starve and die. I don't care if millions of people cannot afford energy, because I still can.
If 20% of the population in this country died right now, I wouldn't care if I, and my family, was still alive and well.
Am I selfish, yes I am. In the end when it comes down to me and you, I will always pick me.
Now get the fvck out of my way.

yep half the problem of america right there... to be honest though, at least you are honest about it... why can't politicians come out and say this if this is how they feel?
The only excuse oil companies have for the current prices is the fact that they need to start drilling off shore (dep water drilling) if oil is to remain mainstream 20 eyars from now and that takes big money now.

That was a great post. We're beyond the preservation of immediate resources-that is the primary problem.

About thermodynamics - you posted a bunch of stuff about energy being created/destroyed/harvested/whatever. That's where I was coming from. There is only one source of energy hitting this planet, that energy is stored in various forms. So what if we use it.

Agriculture is fueled (hah) by petrol. Without diesel/gasoline large-scale agriculture suddenly becomes much more difficult...

It is, but Carbon Dioxide is not.

Spartan Niner-that's exaclty the problem. I burned 600 gallons of diesel to harvest 100 acres of wheat per day, many bushels but I didn't take the wheat home and make bread, back then our fuel budget was 28% of OC.
That was 10 years ago.
The margin is smaller every year even with ADM subsidies.
