I have 1gb of Corsair RAM (the set made for dual-channel).

The funney thing is that it booted fine about 3 times..........and now....it just won't.....one of 3 things happens

1.) black screen (moniter on)
2.) black screen (moniter off)
3.) detects video card....but goes no further, and hangs on that screen, (right before ram)

so any idea's?

I also tried taking 1 stick out......but to no avail it still didn't boot.

Ok I just tried it again and it booted fine.......I waited 10 min or so.....however about a minute or so into the bios settings....it froze up and then wouldn't post at all.

If I somehow can get into the advansed bios setting what should I set the ram to???

thanks for all your help

Try pulling out the DPS unit from your board and see if that helps. There have been a few people whose boards had problems with the dual-power unit. Good luck!

I read on another board that the RAM timings on the LL are too aggressive for the chipset. What you need to do is set the RAM options to manual instead of SPD. If it will not boot at 2-2-2-6, try 2-3-3-6, then 2-3-3-7 and so on.

I have no problems with the DPS

to get into adv, hold ctrl+F1
its under the 3rd down, left row.. (I'd give you the name of it, but I'm in the middle of a prime95 run) Advanced Chipset Features
change the setting to 2-6-3-3.. This worked with a gig of the 3200LL cas2 (no prime95 errors)

I find that prime95 does a good job of letting you know if there are any timing issues. run the tortue test and see if comes back with errors. then turn'em up, repeat.

Im torture testing now, with the sinxp and a 3.06@3332 (145fsb)ram at 434 mhz with timming running at 2-7-3-3. wouldn't post at 2-6-3-3. As soon as prime finishes and I dont get errors about cpu temps being over 60c(bios), I will keep going up...

It doesn't seem like I'm able to get an accurate cpu temp out of windows is my only problem. It reads idle at 41c (44 in bios) and jumps up to 63c with cpu0 and 66c with cpu 0+1 going. heatsink is warm, but not that hot ( i will prolly reinstall for the hell of it).. plus, I haven't yet got an error on reboot (one that would tell me I have hit the limit set in bios of 60c)
I did a memory bench out of sandra while 2prime95's (cpu0+1) was going,,, 3723mB/3723 :)

sandra03 reads cpu temp at 127c

It crashed prime,, 1h 15m . I'll up some voltage and try again.. bios didn't report over 60c,, still
