Simultaneous connection on Wireless and Hardwired

I have a laptop that has both a wired and wireless connection.

They are connected to two completely different networks, both with internet access. Is there a way to associate an application with a particular connection?

I would like to have the hardwired connection be the default and have Firefox run on the wireless connection.

Unless you have a specific application that was programed with such capacity there is No way to control it.

If you map drives to each network I file maniplation can be controled through map drives.

But if the idea is (as an example) let use Firefox on Network 1, and IE on Network 2, No Can Do.
 
That is unfortunate. I wonder if later operating system's will build in this capability. If you can control what CPU a process uses, I dont see why it would be difficult to do the same with network adapters.
 
You might be able to by running one of them in a VM, and setting the routing table in the VM such that only one of the networks is accessable. I think, maybe I'm wrong.

You might see if ZoneAlarm might give you some sort of capability. An application-based firewall could deny traffic between that application and a network.

is this like, a work laptop wired at work and you want to browse in some unrestricted wifi or something? 😕
 
you sure you can't bind the source IP to the application using a switch or compile time option?

I coulda swore BIND and Qmail had this as an option.

you did not mention the o/s you were using.


could bind the source port 80/443 to outbound route based on your great firewall rules?
