Sims 2 question

I recently purchased the sims 2 and have been playing it for a couple weeks. Just recently my wife decided she would also like to play. She happened to choose the same neighborhood I am playing. I was usrprised to see that my family was in there even though she was starting a new game for herself. I figured it was no big deal. Then i saw my wife in the game at my real wifes characters house. I am curious, if she somehow fell in love with my character in the game(or dare I say, my wife in the game) will that have an impact on my game?

why were you surprised? it's not like you set up different user accounts in Sims. The seperate accounts are pretty much the neighborhoods so if you want her game to be seperate from yours she'd have to play in a different neighborhood. Otherwise if she plays in the same neighborhood the relationships of all the characters that she interacts with will be affected. But they will not age unless she actually plays your characters.

yes it will. if she is playing her game and interacts with your character she can make your character fall in love with her. in your game it will show her as a friend with the heart icons, etc.

I was surprised because I didn't realize it worked that way. I figured that your house was basically like your save area. Basically like 2 people can play the same neighborhood, but only the current players characters would be in the game at that time. I am not complaining, I just wanted to be sure. It doesn't bother me, I actually thought it was kinda neat, I just hadn't expected it to be that way.

So basically, if I understood you correctly, if I do indeed want our games seperate, then we need to play on differant neighborhoods?

Rather than start a new thread about Sims 2...
I was creating new characters yesterday and realized that you don't have any options to change the body other than fat or thin. I could have sworn they had more options besides changing the face.
