i dont have any antivirus, daemon tools,alcohol etc installed. its a fresh installation of xp sp2.
a funny thing happens when i get to choose the install destination. at that screen the picture shows the "nfs most wanted" picture! then ereg error and then flash 6 error.
the best result i've got, is by copying the cd's to separate folders like so:
Disk Images(main folder)
Disk1(sub folders)
Disk2
Disk3
Disk4
over here i get the sims 2 picture all through to the install destination screen, but then ereg error and then flash 6 error, with it stopping at "package08".
i've also renamed the installshield folder, and the dvd writer drive is physically disconnected from the computer(since i've copied the cd contents to the folders as mentioned above).
i have installed this previously on win2000, successfully.
