Simpsons gets 2 more years

Yesterdays new episode was actually pretty funny, I'm willing to give the greatest cartoon sitcom ever 2 more years to make it work again.

please, please, please...make it stop!

<--loves pre 1998 Simpsons

Fixed.

98-99 included Max Powers, trip to tokyo, recycling grease. so I will agree pree 200

Yeah but the next season includes Homer the missionary, tomacco, and homer the food critic, all great episodes.

They still have some episodes that are good from time to time, but I agree, most are bad. Hopefully be a good 2 years.

Even a bad episode of the Simpsons is better than most network television.

Very true. I can count on my fingers <one hand> of how many shows on tv that I like <24, Amazing Race, and a couple more>.

I was thinking that yesterday when I watched it. It almost reminded me of when they were still good.

yesterday's was pretty good ...

homer in his sacrcastic tone:
"just bcause u've not seen bart for a couple of couple must mean that he's been kidnapped by a giant ape"

People have been saying they've jumped the shark for years.

The funny thing is, that the year/season after which people tend to agree that it went downhill, gets later and later as time goes by. (i.e. back in 2000 people may have said the Simpsons have sucked since 1996, and now the comment about it sucking since 2001).

My theory is that a lot of Simpsons episodes may seem wacky and not as good initially, but as time goes by they become 'classics'. Basically, you have to let them grow on you.

I still personally love the show, even the latest seasons.

Futurama?

Hah, I saw that article and knew someone would make a thread like this.

There's no one forcing you to watch. Many people (including myself) still find it entertaining.

Exactly. The Simpsons is the greatest, most literate comedy show in the history of television IMO. I will continue to watch it. Even if it's not the strongest it's ever been, it's still great. Are people insisting it should be cancelled in favor of another crappy new Fox show? Otherwise, why do you care if it's still on?
