I have a TV capture DIVX file that, whenever I highlight it in windows explorer, it causes windows explorer to crash. It has to be highlighted for a few seconds before the crash occurs. If I try to open it, WMP loads then immediately crashes, and then windows explorer crashes. I did not record this file but this seems very strange. I was able to burn the file to a DVD though, however it still won't play. Any ideas?

Yes. The file is probably irretrievably screwed. Unless the content is incredibly important to you, delete it and move on. Sorry to sound to smartass, but sometimes you just have to cut your losses

The file is probably corrupt. Explorer is crashing because Windows Explorer tries to create a preview of the file when you highlight it.
