Simple X2 4400+ Overclock?

I know it won't be quite as easy as the barton 2500 to 3200 overclock (just set FSB from 166 to 200), but is there any safe and simple overclock for the Athlon X2 4400+? A lot of people want 2800 Even a 50 - 100 MHZ overclock would feel nice 🙂 200 would be great!

I'll be on an Asus A8V motherboard with 2x512 of some old but nice Mushkin PC3500 ram... I think it's currently running at 2-2-2-11@200mhz on my Abit AN7 3200 barton machine.

I'm guessing there's not going to be an easy way out though.

it should be able to hit 2.4 on stock voltage, you may have to run the memory on divider if you want to keep the timings

Just follow Zebo's guide at the top of this forum, as the principles are still the same (even with the extra core, its still an Athlon 64).

For what it's worth - with mine on stock voltage and air cooling it does 220x11 flawlessly with no memory divider and rated RAM timings ( 2.5-3-3-6-1T ). 230x11, 240x11 and 250x11 boots, but instantly locks up on prime95 torture test at any RAM setting. ( The timings are a little loose because I am using 2x1024MB )

Debating on whether to up the volts some and push it a bit further.

From what I have seen with 2 of them, go 1.4v and 2400 and HTT=4. Almost a given IMO

That's what I've been using, works great. It is the getting higher while also managing temps that is a PITA.

HTT=4 means that the HTT (hyper transport) multiplier should be set to 4. Some boards call this the LDT.
