Simple Webpage Help Needed: Emulate 'New Tab' in IE

Lifer
Hello!

I would like a custom homepage in Internet Explorer to launch my most frequently used sites on my work computer. I'd like to mimic what IE9 does when you open a new tab (please see picture below). The only problem with IE9's version is that I'd like to be able to add other websites, and not just the most commonly used sites. Can somebody help me build a webpage with buttons, editable links, and the ability to add small avatars for the each website? Thank you.

Please feel free to email or PM me. bmacd95b at gmail dot com. Thanks!

This looks like something you could do fairly easily in any WYSIWYG editor that can produce a website. You could probably even use Word or Excel and save the document as a web page.

Instead of taking that approach, you might just look for a "Speed Dial" type extension for the browser that you use. I use FVD Speed Dial in Chrome. There are actually several different, similar extensions like this for Chrome.

Does pretty much exactly what you're talking about. You can add sites, customize the icon (and can often select from many that users have creaated). Additionally, you can have multiple "groups", which are essentially tabbed pages, each with its own set of site links. I keep a main group of most used sites, then groups for News, Sports, Entertainment, Shopping, Computers, Tech, and a few others.
