Simple transfer from camcorders to settop dvd recorder

A friend of the family owns both a Canon HF-11 and an older Sony DCR-HC90 camcorder and has asked me for help in buying a settop dvd recorder so that she can transfer her tapes from both camcorders to dvds. She also has a few VHS tapes. She does not want to bother with a computer. Some loss in quality during duplication is acceptable. Would a machine like the SamsungDVD-VR375 DVD Recorder / VCR Combo work for this purpose. I guess you would run the camcorders into the tv, press play, and then record through the Samsung, or is there a better method/machine? I am out of my element here since I have never owned a video camera. Thanks for any assistance.
