Simple Technologies 128 meg CF for 75 Shipped!

Wonder how this compares to Amazon deal of Viking and Sandisk.

Some says those were made by a few companies in China...but I would still stick with Viking or Sandisk thou.
Simple Tech's ram isn't of good quality.

Simple tech CF cards are excellent.. and they are comparable to

Viking and Sandisk..

I think Lexar is best tho...

This is GOOD DEAL, just spend $5 more and no worry of rebate.
Simple Technologies is kinda famous with CF card (not their pc memory though).

Newegg are also doing a 64MB Smartmedia card for $30 with free shipping here. It's labelled as "refurbished" and will not work with HP digital cameras. (No big loss IMHO!).

Good price with the free Shipping. I've used a Simple CF card with my Nikon Coolpix for 1-1/2 years and have no problems with it.

<< Sandisk and I believe Lexar are lifetime. >>

Both SanDisk and Lexar Compact Flash cards come with a 5-year warranty. That seems to be the industry standard -- Kingston, Viking, and Crucial offer the same. Simple Technology tends to be good quality with the same warranties so it might be worth it to verify the warranty period with them directly.

<< how does Simple tech's CF cards compare to Lexar, Sandisk, or Viking? >>

The cards offered by the major memory houses are all pretty much the same. Sandisk invented the Compact Flash and Lexar has done a tremendous marketing job with their "USB-enabled" cards but amateurs will be hard pressed to see any appreciable difference among the different brands. I talked to a Lexar rep a few weeks ago about the different speeds and he essentially said that you pretty much have to have one of the super-expensive professional cameras to get any benefit from their 8X line.

Rob Galbraith published an interesting review of Compact Flash performance in February that you may find interesting. He testing them with high performance professional cameras though so your mileage may vary.

Igotgas, the general opinion is that Mr. Flash is low end.

As posted earlier, I used a Simple Tech CF card with my Nikon Coolpix digital camera for 1-1/2 years and was pleased with its speed & performance. I'd take the Simple over the Mr. Flash any day.

Currently, I use Lexar with a Jumpshot reader which I personally consider to be the best.

<< Wait..am I missing something? The link is for 64Mb CF, not 128MB?! 😕 >>

Been waiting 4 someone 2 point that out.😀

BTW if you can wait and have the extra bucks in five days (JULY 1st) Kingston's rebate will start and also a price drop on their 256 C/F. With PM and rebate blah blah blah should run about 100 to 110.

As always, we can count on HawkeyeNJ for the choice info.

Thanks for the headsup, you should start a thread about that.
A lot of us here would be very interested in that.

BTW, anyone wanna buy my Canon PowerShot S10 off of me? 😉

That's because the 128mb has been out of stock for awhile and Newegg removed the item from the page, so all that's left in that category is the 64mb.

If you need a CF, you can still get the Kingston 128mb CF for ~$76...
