Simple / Stupid AGP SLOT question....

If a video card say's: "for AGP 2X/4X systems" (ATI Radion 8500)

I am assuming it means EITHER a 2X or a 4X slot, so if my motherboard, an ASUS P3B-F say's it supports an AGP 1X/2X slot, then is it safe to assume that the mentioned video card WOULD work?

the card will work but you'll be limited to maximum x2 AGP transfers!
the real world difference between x2 & x4 is minimal.

I would say the Motherboard is at least 1.5 years old.
