Ok here it goes. I have win2k pro sharing a cable modem with my win98 and 95 systems. I have enabled file sharing with the nework card that is internal. I have shared folders and can see my 2k machine from the other systems network neighborhood but when I try to log in I get

you must supply a password to make this connection

Resource: \\desk\ipc$
password:

I tried my administrator password but that didnt work.

I've had no luck at all sofar. I can access my 98 and 95 machine from my 2k though. I must just be missing something here.

Any help?

the easiest way is to use the same username/password to logon 95/98 machines as you do on Win2K.

Create new accounts on Win2K and make sure the user names are the same as the names of the computers running Win98/95. Then all you'll have to do is type in the correct password since the user name will already be recognized.

Ok I think I got it now. The win98 and 95 machines were not using passwords just a login name and the 2k machine had guest disabled. I tried logging into the 98machine just like the 2k and had no problems.

Thanks alot everyone!
