I have a casio lk 92 keyboard with midi and an SD slot on it, I also have a SD card sitting here that I wanted to pop into the keyboard and save music onto...

The slot on the keyboard is pretty straight forward, sorta like a card reader for the pc, and I am used to using SD cards in my camcorder, rio, and digital camera, yet reading the manual it shows the card going in with the connection sides down yet the notch on front is on the LEFT as it enters the unit.

I have 3 different SD cards, none of which fit this manuals drawings description, all of my SD cards have the notch on the RIGHT front if you were to insert it with connection contacts downward.

I did try my card into the slot but it can't seem to find it's way in without feeling as tho I am forcing it or something, and I don't want to mess the keyboard or the card up, clearly the book shows contact side down, notch on left front as it enters the unit, yet clearly my cards (3 different ones) all have a notch on the opposite side if I were to insert it contact side down.

I re read the book, doesn't seem to mention anything about it being a "special" type of SD card and I didnt know there was even a difference in SD cards in general, just hoping maybe someone can chime in as to what I am overlooking here?

I wrote to Casio last week Wednesday but still no response from them so who knows if they are even gonna reply...

Bill :)

Sounds like a Smartmedia card rather than an SD card.

Checking around, it looks like it does take Smartmedia rather than SD cards. Smartmedia cards are the really thin cards. They would have the notch on the left with the contacts down.

Yes it does say smart Media 3.3volt card only in the manual, dummy me thought a SD card and a smart media card were the same thing (picture in the book looks virtually identical to an sd card).

So yeah I guess I have to go find a smartmedia card that is 3.3volts online or somethin...

Thanks for the reply, im a dummy,,,

hehe thats true, if it don't fit at least I am not a dummy enough to MAKE it fit, that would open up a whole new batch of problems and questions LOL

Thanks again for helping to point out the obvious, (i just wasn't paying attention and after looking at the picture I assumed it was a sd card), never dealt with anything that takes smart media cards but I guess todays the day!

At least on pricewatch they seem to be a bit cheaper than sd cards,
