I had never heard of this company/program before I saw a link for it on GotApex Deals yesterday. They claim to offer $25 gift certificates to a whole bunch of B&M stores (incl Circuit City) for $20. You can buy up to $5,000 worth of certificates per year. There is an approx $100/year membership fee but the first 30 days are free and you can supposedly cancel at any time for a full refund.
This seems like a good deal on large ticket items (such as an iBook, which I'm looking at) that are going for about retail price at all stores. However, I'm a bit concerned that I've never heard about the company and thus whether their gift certificates will actually work at these stores. Plus, they claim to refund your $5 per certificate quickly after your purchase so it's not an instantaneous credit (meaning one could get stuck with no refund if the company shuts down).
Anyone ever hear of them or deal with them? Any thoughts?
The link is here . I can't tell if GotApex stuck referral links in there but I don't think so. . . .
