Simple RAM Timing Question

Hi there,

I am running a dual channel kit, 2048mb, of OCZ Platinum RAM. The timings of these chips are 2(CAS)-3(TRCD)-2(TRP)-5(TRAS). This is on the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard.

If I set SPD to AUTO, the RAM is only running at CAS 2.5.

Therefore, I have set the timings manually in bios, and bumped up the RAM voltage to 2.65V just to maintain stability (the RAM states it can handle up to 2.80V).

However, there are other RAM settings in BIOS that must be set, which are not described by the RAM chips themselves.

These are - TRC, TRFC, TRWT, TWR.

What is the correct speed for these settings, given a 2-3-2-5 setup?

Thank you.

I'll help bump this because I have a very similar setup and pretty much the exact same question. I have the same OCZ Platinum ram on an Asus A8N SLI Premium. I manually configured it to 2-3-2-5 / 2.65v but had no clue what the other values meant or how to tweak them. Right now the "other" settings look like this:

Row (bank?) cycle time (TRC) = 11t
Row Refresh cyc time (TRFC) = 24t
Read to write time (TRWT) = 4t
Write recovery time (TWR) = 3t

CPU-Z also gives me another value... "DRAM Idle Timer = 16 clocks"

Everything works fine at these settings, but I would just like to know that I have my ram set to run at its best! Thanks

Leave those Ram settings set to AUTO in your Bios, your mobo will set the correct values for you...after that check them out with RightMark memory analyzer 3.55 or Central Brain Identifier 7.50
Hope this helps!!
