I know this is going to most likely be a simple answer and I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, but I wanted to confirm it before I did anything.

I recently upgraded to an SSD drive and using my old 2 TB drive as a backup. I have no way of backing up the old files right now, so I thought maybe I could simply delete the windows folders/files from the old hard drive and only keep the files I wanted to keep (i.e. things like deleting the Windows folder or the Program Files folder).

My question is does this have any potential for problems?

Thanks!

So, your boot drive is now the SSD & that has the OS on it.
Assuming the bootloader is NOT on the old HD, but on the SSD, then you can do anything you want with the old HD.
