Simple question...

Hi everyone, I just have a real simple question for you...

I'm building a new computer for college, and I've got all the hardware specs ironed out, but I'm not sure where to go as far as my OS is concerned. It's either going to be WinXP Home Ed. or WinXP Pro, but I'm not sure what the advantages of Pro is. I would just go with the home edition and save myself $100, but I've heard that Pro is a good choice for college. However, I've never heard exactly why Pro is so ideal for my situation, so I was hoping that someone could enlighten me? Thanks in advance for any input...

Most of the differences are security related or pertain to corporate networking (joining a domain, security, etc.) that isn't needed by most people. The FAQ nicely outlines the differences.

I've been running XP pro for awhile now and have used Home.... security is really the only noticable differences IMHO....
