Simple question: Opinion?

I've been arguing with a friend who is a die-hard Intel freak, and I am the same about AMD. We're wanting to square up two boxes:
Dual PIII 850
Intel STL2 Board
1gb RAM
U160 SCSI IBM 10kRPM

vs.

Thunderbird 1.4ghz / 200mhz FSB
MSI K7T Master-S Board
1gb PC133
U160 SCSI IBM 10kRPM

Systems will be running Slack 8 with Kernel 2.4.12

My question is: will the AMD box stand strong with the Intel running as a heavily-hit web server?

I'm pretty sure the AMD would blow the Intel out of the water in performance. Like, really blow it out of the water. Stability should be about the same, but in this case it might favor the Intel a bit. Still, I'd go with the AMD.
