Simple (?) question on the Arctic 5 Thermal paste application

I'm going to be using after-market cooling for my VGA and CPU and I wanted to be crystal clear on this...

The paste that comes shipped on the coolers and such...should I just wipe it off with a rag and then apply the Arctic 5 paste?

No, use 95% Isopropyl alcohol or Acetone, and not a rag, but coffee filters, they're lint free.
