Simple Question from Newbie

Hi All
I'm in the planning stages of setting up a network at home, in order to share a cable connection. My machine has Win 98SE; my partner's will have Win XP, most likely (she hasn't purchased the machine yet...)

I was wondering whether this combination will, in general, work well togther, or should the operating systems be the same for some reason?

Thanks in advance!!

Should be fine

The machines are still seperate, even though they are networked.

All they would be sharing is information - information common to Windows systems. Should be no problem at all.
