Simple question for those that have or use Apple Mac.

I have a PC and a friend has a Mac, and I want to give him a CD-R containing some video, either DivX and/or XviD, can he play these files? And, if so, what software do I tell him to view it and where to download it from. I know Apple uses Quicktime, but will it play other types and can Quicktime do this?

If there is software, can I download it and burn it on to a CD-R with my PC and will his Mac be able to read/load the software?

Thanks...

divx just got released for the mac, not sure about xvid

I'v written some mp3's for my aunt who has a mac, worked for her

Mac's have been able to play divx for forever, probably through quicktime but I don't really know. You can give him mac software but windows software isn't gonna work.
