Simple question for someone who knows !!

I just had to reinstall windows XP on alaptop, and I am annoyed that even though I am listed as the only user, the computer always asks me to pick the user when it restarts. My other computer (desktop) does not do this--ie. when you restart it, it goes straight to the desktop.

Is there any way to make the OS bypass the "select user" screen? I have looked through the users control panel and the administrative tools control and I can't seem to be able to do it.

Thanks,

BJ

Thanks for the tip. I really did spend a LOT of time looking through all the options in the administrative tools control panel, but could not find this one.

Ok. 🙂

I could never do this myself. I would never be able to find the option, but I'm starting to collect the frequently asked questions and answers around here. 😛

maybe someone could script a bot to cat text out of the questions and post an answer to these common questions?

It could even have the "did you see the search button" and "RTFM" as default answers.

I'm going to use this as an opportunity to boost my post count through copy&paste.
