Simple Question about replacing a dell laptop LCD myself. Yes, DELL!

Hey guys,
Just a quick question, we all know Dell's notorious customer support, so I'll bypass the details and was hoping to replace my Inspiron 8600's monitor by myself, it looks simple enough. The only thing I'm curious about is that I currently have a WXGA monitor, and have an extra WSXGA+ monitor lying around from a different 8600, is it technically safe to just swap the first with the latter into my laptop? Thanks for any help, its been ages since I've surfed this forum, even forgot my login and had to make a new one. 🙁
 
I have no idea but I think you would be better of posting in the Dell Forums. I've used them numerous times and gotten very good results. There are some very knowledgeable people there who post often too.
