Simple question about reformatting my XP

I'm going to be reformatting my computer soon for the first time. I went ahead and backed up all of my music/pictures/school-documents and drivers on my 2nd harddrive. I figured I would have to remove the hard drive to be safe so that i don't accidentally reformat it. I'm going to be reformatting to xp pro. Would it be advised to remove the hard drive when i remorat, or will i will be able to leave the drive alone?

thanks for the help, just don't want to lose all of my important stuff.

Yeah, just disconnect power cable from hard drive before you reformat. Either way is fine, much safer obviously to disconnect backup drive, cause you may just format the wrong one:Q

power cable is the best choice. I don't usually do anything but it is better to be safe than sorry
