Simple Question about Bridging connections.

I have a wirless router 1 floor up, and 5 rooms over. I get decent signal, but it's very unreliable (won't connect for hours at a time, usually most crucial times)

The router is a d-link. I just bought a new linksys router. Is there anyway to have one router be a midpoint to my computer? i.e. recieve the signal and rebroadcast it so my comp can pick it up better. I think this might be called bridging a connection (but I could be way off 😱)

What you want to do is called repeating ( http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Modes.html ).

The D-Link would not do any thing like this. The Linksys with 3rd party firmware might, but it needs to be associate with another Linksys Router. I.e. it probably would not repeat with the D-Link.

You can use one of the Routers as a Switch with an Access Point while putting it in a better location and connect it to the first Router with a Wire.
