simple quake 2 question

I have 2 questions. First, how can I determine what version of Q2 I have and second, what do I need to do to see how many frames per second I am getting?

Thanks

to find the version number, start the game and type "version" into the console.

Quake to does not have a Realtime FPS but to get an indication, go into the console and type "timedemo 1" and them "map demo1.dm2". This will then run the demo and record how many frames AVERAGE there was over the entire demo. You can record your own demos and use the same process but it will only give you an average
