Simple Physics Question

A football coach sits on a sled while two of his players build their strength by dragging the sled across the field with ropes. The friction fource on the sled is 1000N and the angle between the two ropes is 20°. How hard must each player pull to drag the coach at a steady 2.0m/s?

IS THE ANSWER 507.713N EACH ??
 
They each must put a 500 N force in the opposite direction than friction to maintain the velocity. But they are also pulling against each other (draw a diagram). It is a simple trig problem (one step), and the answer should be very easy.
 
I don't get this angle between two ropes. Does it mean that they form a V and both are attached to the middle of the sled? Or is each one on each side of the sled and they are at a 20° from the ground?

And what equations should I be looking at?

Because said lifer is lazy/cannot be bothered to remember HS physics/has a job which has nothing to do with physics.

But then you have to ask why he needs to answer the question, and if he is posed such a question then the only one of the above which can apply is the lazy one.
Or the OP is still in HS and has failed at learning this stuff/goes to a really poor school which has failed to teach him this stuff to a decent standard, in which case he should forget about living.

Yes, I did this in highscool, and forgot it immediately afterwards.

And lifer has nothing to do with intelligence, it has to do with how much spare time I have to nef 😉
 
Imagine somebody pulling a rope to drag a sled across the ground. Now, split that rope in half, give one half to each player, and make the angle between the halves 20 degrees.

I read it as the bold statement. Otherwise, there isn't enough info to solve it.
