Hey guys,

I'm thinking of getting a new 200Gb Seagate SATA drive from Newegg for $118 to replace my 3 year old 40 gig IDE drive.
Now, I've only used IDE before, and haven't really researched SATA. Is there anything special I need to connect a SATA drive?
My motherboard is a new Chaintech VNF3-250 which includes SATA connectors. Does my PSU need to have some special plug?

Thanks! :)

You just need a sata cable which probably came with your motherboard, as well as a sata power plug. Besides that its all the same installation except when you install windows on the drive you have to install the sata drivers from a floppy (search around this forum for it, its been covered many many times.)

My motherboard included:

"Two Serial ATA cables

Two Serial ATA power cables"

So am I all set then? No special PSU plug I need or anything?

Thanks a ton!! :)

You need a Red SATA cable it should come with your motherboard, and Drivers will be available with Motherboard if not you can always download from their website
