time for another build; moderate level gamer, with no plans for dual video cards. My main questions look at the performance levels of boards that are geared two dual cards, where i'm only using one. From what i'm seeing, I should be pretty comfortable with the 770 style boards, versus the 785 or 790's. I had considered using on-board graphics, but I don't think they can do a good job for gaming. CPU (AMD) and v-card i'm using will be middle of the road; for future upgrades, i'll be using DDR3

bottom line.......is it worth it going up from the 770 to the 790, while planning on using one v-card? Thanks in advance.

If you don't plan on using more than one GPU, then a 770 board is perfectly fine. For example, this one.

My preference is for the AMD 785 chipset since there is negligible cost difference between a 770 to a 785. As mentioned, the 790 chipset is unnecessary for a single video card.
