Simple laptop question

I'm new to laptops. I'm planning to buy a cheap laptop with a 802.11g card. The spec sheet for the card says it needs an available cardbus slot. Looking at a number of laptops, they don't list cardbus slots. Is that because they are as standard as 'ON' switches or do I need to be careful that any laptop I get has one of these?

Thanks.

The cardbus generally mean 32bit pcmcia standard. Most new laptop have cardbus slots. An old laptop might hvae the old 16bit or 32bit slots. Usually, you can check this info with the laptop mfg web site.
