I have the URL autocomplete turned on using IE 6.0 for Windows.

One time I accidentally entered URL forums.g and now that URL is stuck there (although it's an invalid web site).

How do I delete that from the list of auto complete URLs?

Many thanks!

In your registry, look in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Exploerer\TypedURLs

What if I'm at work using XP Pro?

I'm pretty sure certain folders/functions are turned off.

Is there anyway to do this within IE?

You can clear your history, but that will get rid of everything in the list.

Yep, it's edit the registry to just remove the 1 item or clear your history to remove all of them. You don't have any other options.

Or use Firefox :p

Shift + Delete selected URL

I only said this because I remembered looking for a solution to do this in Firefox after I found out a way to do this in IE

I ended up doing that which isn't too bad.

Fortunately my cookies are left alone and the passwords are still there
