simple dvd server - dvd file types?

hi guys i'm in the process of building up a simple dvd server that's attached to tv.

i'm ripping dvds to HDD using anydvd. i can rip them either to .iso or to dvd files (VIDEO_TS). which would be a better choice?

while i don't have time to devout much to this project, but in the future, i'd like to build a dvd jukebox-type server complete with cover graphics, etc. also, i might encode some of them to divix for better portablity. in other words, which of those two formats are better suited for various manipulations?

thanks

what player are you using?

personally I would encode to x264 for space savings. if you want to remain uncompressed i'd do DVD folders instead of ISOs

I dunno what's better for you but I have ISO files and use xbmc for playback, which also provides all the fancy cover art and stuff. Super duper simple.
