Simple DSL / Router Question

This should be a simple question for those of you with routers. I've got two networked computers. I have PacBell DSL with Enternet 300 PPPOE. Just bought a Linksys Model BEFSR11 router. Hooked it up to my DSL modem and hub. Everything is fine. Here's where things get complicated.

I can't connect online with the Enternet 300 with the router connected. I tried removing Enternet 300 and opening a browser and typing http://192.168.1.1 like the manual says. Nothing happens because I'm not online. How do I get this to work?

Someone point out my stupidity and help me please!!!!

PPPOE is the protocol that let the DSL carrier authenticate your identify.

When you install the PPPOE software, it probably generated ID and PW.

You type the ID and PW to the Router, (I am not familiar with your specific Router), there is a menu that will let you choose PPPOE, and in this menu, you will find entries for ID and PW.

After you get it working from the Router, you can get rid of the PPPOE software.
