I want to hammer out a quick and dirty website for my company. The most important, and perhaps sole function of my website would be a jpg gallery to showcase the products. I do not NEED e-commerce as I am not selling directly online, but I suppose I can look into some (free) e-commerce solutions that can handle online enquiries. In addition, a CMS would be nice, but which is easiest? I installed Mambo and it looks sort of overkill...?

I use Mambo for a photo blog. It integrates nicely with Gallery. It is pretty easy to use.

One thing to consider if you look at mambo is the MosCE editor. It has some interesting image capabilities that might work for your purposes. The hard part with Mambo (and any CMS really) is getting the templates right.

One thing to be warned about on Mambo is that Miro and the Mambo Core developement team have split. So Mambo will be continuing under Miro's Mambo Foundation and the Core team will branch the code to a new name (http://www.opensourcematters.org/) and do developement there. So, two mambos.

I'm going with the opensourcematters crew mostly because MosCE and SimpleBoard are.

I've installed Mambo and am looking into mambo-phpShop as a possible solution. I read that the pricing/payment functions can be 'turned off' to display only thumbnails, full size jpegs, and brief/detailed descriptions. This sounds like exactly what I want.
