Simple Business Time Tracking Software

Hi everyone, I grabbed part of this post from another topic on Software, thought someone from Off Topic might have used a program like this before:

I'm looking for a program that will help me keep track of the things I do during the day at work. I'm envisioning a program that would have buttons for various tasks that I perform and when I being a task I click the button and it makes an entry somewhere. Then when I'm done with that task and start a new task, I click the button for the new task and it creates an entry somewhere and calculates how much time I spent on the previous task. This would continue on tasks throughout the day.

Something like that.

I know I can probably find something among things at download.com but has anyone actually used a program like this that they can recommend?

Thanks a bunch!

The timer that comes with Quickbooks will do this, but don't blame me when it crashes and takes down your whole system with it. 😛

Heh. Isn't there even a disclaimer from Intiut when installing the timer that says something to the extent of "This module sucks and use at you own risk".

Yeah, simply accounting can do it too with time slips but then you have to keep simply open, which is a big pain.

Anyone else?
