Simple audio mixing software

For those that have lived through the VCD karaoke disc era, you'll no doubt remember that the left and right stereo tracks were used individually for background accompaniment only without vocals (L) and original song with vocals (R).

I'm watching some karaoke videos on youtube with same recording style (probably VCD rips really) and was wondering if there was a way to separate the L & R tracks? Example: listen to the L track only on both speakers.

Right now I'm simply adjusting the balance, but of course that means only sound from one speaker at a time. There must be a smarter way - help please!

Take a look at Audio Hijack Pro, it may be able to do the job.

Do you have the audio? If so, just dump it into an audio editing program like Audacity and separate the channels
