simple answers to proc differences

good evening all

i was looking at some servers just now and notice that quite a few use sparc and alpha processors. what're the main diffs between them and intel and amd procs? i did a search on google but got some ecclectic results. perhaps yall can give me some simple answers or direct me to a website with more info.
