Hello people of The Garage!
So here's an issue that I think is best asked here in hopes of tapping into your wide and varied knowledge of cars.

My wife is in need of a new car or a recent used car.
Her past two cars were Celicas; The current one is a Celica 2002 GT manual transmission (she prefers that).
She kiiind of drives like a crazy person (not getting in wrecks, but.. fast and mildly impatient at times) but she is trying to be/get better. (Used to be worse from what I've heard!)

So she would still like a sporty type car i.e. a coupe (or hatchback if it has to be) that still has decent gas mileage.
With the current Celica that she drives she is used to a pretty good(ish) MPG (between 26-28) if it could be better that would be great but if avoidable she would rather not want to go less than that.

At the moment she is just very interested in a new car when we spotted a Hyundai Genesis 2.0T 2013 and that was just about the catalyst for 'oo I should get a better car'

She loves the look of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2013 - and also (with my mentioning) to a lesser extent the look of the Nissan 370Z. With some comparing and looking up specs and reviews she's realized she prefers the specs of the Scion FR-S (I like its look a little bit), but there's just something about the look of the Genesis that resonates with her. (Something about girls and cute factor)

In essence I was wondering if you guys would have any suggestions of cars to look at with similar lines or body styles that might be worth looking into, to open up a range of cars worth browsing. For what it's worth, her financial range is about 20k to 30, where 35k would be absolute top high max. Since I'm sure she'd prefer to add stuff like satnav most importantly.

Thank you all for your time spent reading and any possible suggestions you may have.

Love my Focus ST. Just passed 2200 miles and am averaging 29+ MPG. You should be able to pick up the base model for ~21K - mine is fully loaded, I paid 26.8 but I've seen people paying as low as 25K for the same package. The '14 is coming out very soon so dealers are unloading the '13 (virtually no changes in the model years).

It doesn't look as cute or sporty as the models you listed so it probably won't pass her muster but it's worth a look. I needed four doors and decent amount of space.
