Revised hmmer applications 5.09 for Windows, Linux, MacOS and UNIX: We have released a new hmmer application 5.09. The new version provides enhanced performance on all platforms but runs much faster especially on Windows/AMD and Linux/AMD64 systems. It creates by 30% smaller results and doesn't need SSE any longer. Thus the default Linux and Windows apps should run on every PC CPU - there are no longer i386 builds needed for manual installation. Several UNIX builds of the hmmer app are available for download and manual installation - thanks to Lars Bausch for compiling them. The Windows/AMD performance is still under investigation and if possible we will improve it in further hmmer versions.
