YES. These new SC games are getting too complicated with too much micromanagement.

I'd play SC2000, but the CD doesn't work because it is so old. I wish there was a way to force it to read somehow.

Also, I think the best feature would be as TheoPetro said. Being able to grow into a nation and soon the entire world would be cool. Maybe start the game out where you choose a country to start a city and then"explore" or invade new territories. That would be awesome if you needed an army to take over new places. It would almost be cool to have a Sim City Red Alert in my opinion.

Yea! Wage war with the other mayors if they wont sell you power or somthing.

It would also need improved transit systems. Whos actually built a city without traffic problems in simcity 4/rush hour?? It just seems impossible to have a perfect city nowadays, 3000 and 2000 were fine IMO, pretty easy to make a perfect city.

3000 was good, I think simcity 4 was a step in the wrong direction...

It was such a pain to get your education levels to decent levels...
Had to place schools everywhere....the game seemed like a constant cycle of....

Spending all of your money on new zones and placing schools.....
Then being broke forever....
then when you actually start to make money oh....you have got to build more schools etc....

I dunno, it just wasn't as much fun as 2000 or 3000....It seemed so repetative...

Maybe they should have a couple of different modes for the discerning player. One with a ton of micro managegement (because you know some people out there love it), and another mode for casual players who play only an hour at a time.

Rush hour did that. The controls were horrible though. It was really only a super zoom(very pixelated), instead of a unique in game game.

I like SC4 BECAUSE of the micromanagement. Yes, it can be tedious at times, but with the fan community having stepped up and creating new lots/buildings and mods for the game, it has gotten a lot better.

But everyone has their opinion. I'll be disappointed if they take a step backwards and go with SC2000 gameplay. THAT was boring IMO.

sim tower was great! wow, so many memories on that old hp. . . . simcity 2000 was awsome, 3000 was a bit worse and way to tedius for me. a new version of 200 would be great with some updated grafix and some new features and choices for things. i would love to see underground power lines too.

SimCity is first and foremost a simulation. It just so happens that up until the latest iteration of the game (SC4), the technology did not exist to get the level of [micro]management that we find in SC4. I'll also add that I loved SC Classic and 2000. I started playing classic when I was in the 4th grade and had tons of fun. And yes, now I find the city building series has gotten a little too technical for my tastes and I barely played SC4/RH before I got bored and moved on. But I have delved into all the user addons and mods and man...you can really build some fantastic looking cities. Check out simcitycentral.com or simtropolis.com for some beautiful examples.

I liked sc4 because of the micromanagement it gets you really into the game but the game is getting too hard to play for some, so they can't really make everyone happy at this point, but I did love 2000 not 3000 though, never really got into it.
