I want to start playing SC4 again, but my laptop obviously can not handle such a game. Never fear, because I am in the process of building my very own computer (for the first time ... sigh) :D

All personal preferences aside, does anyone here play SC4 on Vista with little issues?

I know it could be something other than the operating system. I hear mixed thoughts on dual-core processors and apparently ATI doesn't play well with SC4?

Any other help for newb in building a PC is appreciated.

Yes, I've run SC4 on my Vista machine (although I suck at SC4, cities always spiral out of control..that is separate issue).

You can cheat a little by creating side cities, whose only job is to support the main city. You ca build a city that'll take in trash, provide industrial jobs and power, at the same time it can sell water to help offset costs.
