Does anyone know the significance of the 18/8 on the back of their flatware, thanks.

No. I never noticed it.

18 stands for 18% chromium
8 stands for 8% nickel

At least that's what my wife thinks, she's the resident genious around these parts

If you have 18/8 on your silverware, it's of relatively high quality
