I'm trying to install Ultra X3 800wt PSU in Silverstone TJ-10. The place for installation is on the bottom of the case and case also has an opening in the bottom, covered by mesh. In numerous reviews a saw Ultra X3 installed with fan turned inside of case.

But also I saw in couple reviews it was put with fan down, to bottom of case, toward mesh (grid). Somewhere I read that this fan is exhaust fan. So, I still can't figure out which is the proper way to put this bloody fan in SS TJ-10.

And also it seems that PSU can be attached by only 3 screws. If someone already had expirience with Ultra and SS - please share with me, because I can't move further in building.
I'm really confused and can't find an answer on Ultra or SS sites.

Also another question: do I need to install two extra fans on the top of the case?

Thank you!

I have not used the products you have listed but do have a little experience.
I have yet to see a PSU with an exhaust anywhere but out the back where the 110v line plugs in. Power supplies should not exhaust air into the case...
It was turned upward with the idea that it may dray some of the hot vid card air out the case, presonally, I would not do this, the PSU is the heart of your system and should be run under optimal conditions, turn the intake to the bottom so it may draw cool air from under the case.
As for mounting, it is not necessary to use any screws if the case is never moved. It is screwed for support, I use all four.
The fourth is hidden by the t-line valve but it is there!
Build your rig first, see what your temps are before you install exaust fans on the top of your case. just the openings will allow heat to escape, fans add noise.

Exhaust on the side near On/Off switch and fan on the top - big 130mm.

Another question: how I can test this power supply without DMM or w/o connecting to board or load? I plugged it in electric outlet, but fan is not spinnig and there are no noises or buzzes. This is because of no load on output or could be sign of problem?

Here is an acceptable explanation, you may need a load, fan or HD. Google how to jumpstart or hotwire a PSU, you'll find lots'. Don't worry that your wires to the ATX plug are not color coded, go with the pin-outs in the diagram. ATX, is ATX, is ATX, is ATX.
